Interest Groups

2022-2023 Season’s Interest Groups

The Out-to-Lunch Bunch has returned in full swing! Monthly, members of CFUW will be joining on a weekday to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant – anywhere in St. Thomas/Elgin County could be our next local lunch, we even frequent the London restaurant scene on occasion. Does this seem like something you’d be interested in joining? Please contact our convener Chris at The group is always open to suggestions for local grub from food trucks to fancy dining.

The Between the Line Book Club is open to suggestions for the upcoming season and back to meeting in-person, as much as possible! The eight books discussed last season were a hit, with titles ranging from The Pull of the Stars by the London local Emma Donoghue to Where the Crawdads Sing, which is inspiring an upcoming motion picture. Do you have ideas of new material for the group? Do you want to discuss literature with your peers? This club runs the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 2 pm and 7 pm and rotates hosts. For information, please contact Jennifer at

The Advocacy Club is going strong, with an interest in important issues like sexual assault policies, long-term care access, and women’s health. We are putting our two sense into updates to Provincial and National policy changes, and will continue to work with our local MPP and MP to accomplish our goals. Does this sound like a group you would be interested in? Are their any causes you hope to champion? For more information, please reach out to Anita at

And finally, the Community Engagement Fund, the CFUW’s fundraising arm, will be continuing as normal and are looking for innovative fundraising ideas to make up a shortfall experienced over COVID. Please consider joining, volunteering, and contributing to our fundraising group by contacting Karen at
