CFUW ST. THOMAS INTEREST GROUPS
The Out-to-Lunch Bunch continues in full swing! Every month, members of CFUW join together on a weekday to enjoy lunch and conversation at a local restaurant. Anywhere in St. Thomas/Elgin County could be our next local lunch location, and we even venture to London on occasion to explore their restaurant scene. Does this seem like something you’d be interested in joining? Please contact our convener Sharon at marandme29@gmail.com. The group is always open to suggestions for local fare from food trucks to fancy dining.
The Between the Lines Book Club is open to suggestions for the upcoming season and back to meeting in-person. Do you want to discuss literature with your peers? Have you recently read or heard of a book that you could suggest for future discussions by the group? This club runs the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 2 p.m. (with a second option at 7 p.m. if the group is very large) with rotating hosts among our members. For information, please contact Jennifer at jandfschuster@rogers.com.
The Advocacy Club is going strong, with an interest in important issues like sexual assault policies, long-term care access, and women’s health. We are putting our two cents into updates to Provincial and National policy changes, and will continue to work with our local MPP and MP to accomplish our goals. Does this sound like a group you would be interested in? Are there any causes you hope to champion? For more information, please reach out to Anita at anita.christopher-mccallum@outlook.com
And finally, the Community Engagement Fund, the CFUW’s fundraising arm, continues to look for innovative fundraising ideas. These funds allow us to support our scholarship program and other worthy community projects. Please consider joining, volunteering, and contributing to our fundraising group by contacting Karen at kdharrison1308@gmail.com
